Hi, I’m Maria!

I'm an Early Childhood teacher with a passion for holistic, child-led education, and currently studying to become a Play Therapist.

In 2022, I created The Holistic Playroom with a simple but heartfelt vision: to offer children and families a calm, nurturing space that felt more like a community than a classroom — a place where childhood could be slow, meaningful, and grounded in play, connection, and belonging.

Designed with purposeful materials and inspired by alternative educational approaches, every element of the space supports the whole child — physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Through hands-on experiences and guided social interactions, children develop confidence, emotional regulation, and strong social skills in a gentle and respectful way.

Now, I’m reopening the Playroom with even more intention and excitement. This new chapter includes something very special: I’ve joined forces with a colleague who is a circus teacher specialising in movement and circus skills, bringing a dedicated area where children can jump, roll, climb, balance, and challenge themselves in playful and adventurous ways.

We believe movement is a fundamental part of development, helping children build coordination, body awareness, confidence, resilience, and self-regulation.
