The Holistic Playroom – 0 to 6 years

The Holistic Playroom is a nurturing, movement-rich space for children aged 0 to 6 years, where play, connection, and exploration come together in a calm and supportive environment.

This Playroom is guided by my background in education and alternative approaches to early childhood, alongside my ongoing training as a Play Therapist. Each session is held with intention — to gently support children through play, allowing them to explore, move, express, and relate in ways that feel natural and meaningful to them.

Children of all early childhood stages are warmly welcome — from babies to preschoolers.

 
A space to move, explore, and belong

The early years (0–6) are a time of rapid development — physically, emotionally, and socially. Children move through different stages, from sensory discovery to imaginative play, all with a deep need for connection, movement, and belonging.

The Playroom offers:

Children are invited to be themselves, supported by play, movement, and presence.

Space for curiosity, experimentation, and self-expression

There is no pressure to achieve or perform.

A place to leave the house and be in community

Opportunities for children of different ages to interact and learn from one another

A supportive environment where both children and adults feel welcome

 
For babies, toddlers, and young children

The Playroom is thoughtfully prepared to support a wide range of developmental stages:

For babies (0–1):
Gentle sensory experiences, floor-based play, and freedom of movement
A calm space to observe, connect, and explore safely

For toddlers (1–3):
Opportunities for movement, independence, and discovery
Climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, and whole-body play

For young children (3–6):
Open-ended materials that support imagination, creativity, and social play
Opportunities to build confidence, autonomy, and relationships

A key feature of this Playroom is a movement-based environment, adapted to different ages and abilities. Activities are flexible and open-ended, allowing each child to engage at their own pace and according to their interests.

Play is honoured as the child’s natural language — a way to process their world, their emotions, and their relationships.

 
For families

This is a playgroup-style session, where families remain responsible for their children and stay present throughout the experience.

Parents and caregivers are invited to:

Observe their child’s play and development
Step back and allow space for exploration when appropriate
Ask questions and share experiences
Connect with other families in a relaxed, supportive community

The Playroom is also a space for adults — to slow down, build trust in their child’s abilities, and feel supported in their parenting journey.
